BIOGRAPHY

History

Randall Sheilds grew up on the pastorial world of New Abilene and was apprenticed at an early age to one of the mercenary mechwarriors in service of a local land baron. Randall showed skill in handling a mech but soon tired of the never ending range wars as local barons fought for grazing and water rights. There had to be something more worth while to fight over, at least in his opinion.

That decided he earned enough money to make his way off world to seek his fortune. He was a capable mech warrior and skilled in hand to hand combat and first aid. In addition he also had a knack with electronics and could do some simple repairs himself. His specialty in this field was communications equipment and he managed to secure work with some small mercenary companies as a communications technician till there was an open mech for him to pilot.

It was during one such mission that he fell into the hands of the Restless Souls. He was taken prisoner after his mech was disabled and the company which had employed him left him behind when they retreated. Randall was quite taken with the honorable way in which he was treated and the gallant style of the Souls. He requested and received permission to work for Major Steele and joined as a full member of the company.

Personality

In his off hours he can be found tinkering with odd electronic contraptions and working any of a variety of code puzzles. He has become quite adept at keeping lances lines of communication open in the field and helping to design some of the combat codes the Souls use in the field.
